- Some new stuff to remember..
-
- Non-Registered versions will only allow 2 nodes to play at once. And
- only 5 players will be allowed in the game.
-
- Common setup problems:
-
- For multi-nodes:
- Have each node start DeepSpace in the same directory
- What I mean is each node run
- Doors:DeepSpace/DeepSpace
- or whatever your path is.
- You can rename DeepSpace to DeepSpaceNode1,
- DeepSpaceNode2 ect. if you need to.
-
- NEW NOTES:
- New option for DeepSpace
- You can send DeepSpace the argument HOST. This will load DeepHost
- for you if it is not already. It is REQUIRED that your DeepSpace
- directory be assign DeepSpace: for this option to work!
- If you are limited for memory its suggested that you run the
- Paragon version instead of this method.
-
- New option for DeepHost
- If you are not using the above mentioned HOST mode. You can pass
- DeepHost a number from -5 to 100. This will be the priority for DeepHost.
- This is not recomended either.. Some sysops did request though..
-
- Also DeepHost will now 100% detach. You can run it just as DeepHost
- with out the <nil: >niL: now if you like.
-
- Enter your full path in GameSetup's registration menu.
- Now required! On some BBS's DeepSpace will write files all over your harddrive,
- if you do not enter the full path. (messages, player files ect..)
- Do not user spaces in your path names! If your hard drive has a space
- in the name assign DeepSpace: to the directory and use that.
-
-
- NEW: RIP GFX
- Even if your BBS does not support RIP it will work. The scripts are just
- plain ole text.
- Example:
- !|1U9L1VH32A0000<>Read/Write Public Space Message<>M
- You just wont see the users menus as RIPGfx. Just the script text like
- above. The user needs a RIPGfx term program.
- Even so for the sysop's that just do not want it on can keep users from
- using RIP.. (WHY?)
- In the sysop editor '@' under defaults you can turn rip off.
-
- We (Rod) used RipGraf to make the RIP menus. If you edit menus to make
- them more personal to your BBS I have found that the scripts work better
- (least with the RIP term prgs I have used) with '!' as the 1st
- line. Use a text editor or something and add it as the top line.
- All beta testing has been done with RIPcomm version 0.15 by
- Michael Nelson. If you do not have RIPcomm/RIPGraf you can call his BBS
- at 519-542-6788. Or Fragmented BBS has them also 509-926-5507.
-
- There is an added argument for RIP GFX. 'LOCAL'. This is to turn off
- RIP auto-sensing for local play on BBS's. However I dont know of any BBS
- that can play a door with rip? But DeepSpace is ready!
-
- Example: DeepSpace Name t=40 echo LOCAL
-
- Some BBS's filter out the autosense excape squence for RIP the argument
- ASKRIP can be used to prompt the user if they do have a RIP supported
- term instead of using auto-sense.. Example for CNET
-
- %1 T=%7 ECHO CNET ASKRIP A=5
-
-
- Debug
- There is a debug output in the default directory. You can see if
- the complete path is correct ect.. Also will show the NestCounts on
- all the semaphores. If no one else is on besides you it should be 0
- for all of them.
-
- Game changes: That you might need to know about...
-
- You can attack by and in sector 1, if the morality of the Explorer is
- a negative (Bad Guy).
- If not, you will be warned once, the second time you go to jail.
- You might want this a secret but..
- In case no one figures out how to get people out of jail (3 days). You need
- $30,000, go to querks, hit [T]rade, type 'jail', then buy a security crystal.
- You can break a person out of jail. And if you are in jail with a crystal
- you can break yourself out.
-
- Aliens: Cranked them up. Smarter now, and will hit mines ect..
-
- If I do not know about BUGS I can't fix em..
